We then went off to Thorney Island for the Osprey, who was sitting on his usual post as we got out the cars, another year tick for me at last. With reports of a Spotted Crake at Farlington Marshes only a few miles down the road we went on.
On arrival a group of birders in the distance, so this was hopeful only to be told by one returning to his car not been seen since 9.00am and its now 2.30pm. Having made the trip, we had to have a look. On arrival at the spot someone who I've seen before said showing well now! and put us straight on to the bird. Although distant good views were had through the scope.
